Without living in the gym, starving themselves, or sacrificing the moments that matter.

I’m David Boardman — a 34-year-old dad of two boys, a husband, a ten-year law enforcement officer, a personal trainer, a nutrition specialist, and the owner of THRYVE Performance Lab.
I’m a former college football athlete who’s competed in powerlifting, HYROX, and tactical endurance events… and honestly, I’ve dipped my toes in just about every corner of the fitness world.
But becoming a father changed everything.
My days of two-hour “bro split” workouts and living in the gym? Gone.
Life forced me to evolve — not just my training, but my mindset, identity, and the systems I rely on to stay strong, healthy, and present for my family.
And that’s really what my coaching is built on.
I understand exactly what busy dads are up against:
The long work days.
The pressure to provide.
The constant pull to be a great father, partner, and leader.
We carry a lot — and somewhere in all of that, we stop showing up for ourselves.
But here’s the truth I had to learn the hard way:
You can’t lead your family from an empty tank.
Your health, your confidence, and your energy are the foundation for everything else.
So I built simple, repeatable systems that allow me to stay in shape, compete at a high level, crush big goals, and still be the dad my boys deserve — without sacrificing family time.
And that’s exactly what I teach other dads to do.
Brick by brick, habit by habit, win by win…
I help busy men rebuild the strongest, most confident version of themselves — not just for their families, but for themselves.
Because when you rise, everyone around you rises too
Q: How can I be sure I’ll get the results I want?
A: Results begin with commitment. I’ll guide you with the right steps and structure, but your consistency is what drives real progress. This program is designed for people ready to take control of their health and make lasting change.
Q: My schedule is packed — will this really fit into my life?
A: Yes. This program is built for busy individuals. The sessions are efficient, realistic, and designed to fit a hectic lifestyle. Even on your busiest days, you’ll have a plan you can follow without feeling overwhelmed.
Q: What if I’m not feeling motivated?
A: You don’t need constant motivation — you need a system that supports you. This program teaches you habits and routines that keep you consistent, even when motivation is low. It’s about structure, not willpower.
Q: I’ve tried programs before and didn’t see results. Why would this be different?
A: Unlike quick-fix approaches, this program focuses on both mindset and structure. You’ll develop a sustainable routine that adapts to real life, helping you stay consistent even when things get hectic or unpredictable.
Q: Is this suitable for beginners or only for people with experience?
A: This program works for all experience levels. Whether you’re starting fresh or getting back into a routine, it will meet you where you are and help you progress at a sustainable pace.
Q: Do I need gym equipment?
A: Not necessarily. The program can work with a gym setup or minimal equipment at home. Your plan will be customized based on what you have available.
Q: I have an injury or limitation. Will the program adjust to that?
A: Yes. Everything is personalized, so we can safely work around injuries or physical limitations while still helping you move forward and improve.
Q: Do I need to cut out my favorite foods?
A: Absolutely not. The nutrition approach is balanced and sustainable — no strict restrictions or extreme diets. You can still enjoy the foods you love while learning how to make smarter choices.
Q: How many days a week will I need to train?
A: Typically, you’ll train 3–4 days per week, depending on your goals. The focus is on efficient sessions that deliver results without taking up too much time.
Q: Will I have to do a lot of cardio?
A: No. You’ll have a simple daily step goal to keep you active, but long or intense cardio sessions aren’t required unless they align with your goals.
Q: What happens during the call?
A: The call is straightforward and pressure-free. We’ll talk about your current situation, the challenges you’re facing, and what type of system fits your lifestyle. It’s simply a clear conversation about how you can move forward.
